Omiyage from Turkey, Holy Land, Egypt and Thailand

I have some awesome friends that travel to some very interesting places. And I have been blessed on the omiyage that they bring back for others including me.

I have gotten the following omiyage from Turkey, Holy Land, Egypt and Thailand. Got a little bottle of blessed water from the area that Mother Mary lived after Jesus had died and risen. I love the Jesus and Mary magnet bracelet from the Holy Land, also had Bookmarks of the Egyptian alphabet and and Egyptian person from Egypt. And from Thailand I got a cute elephant bag, elephant decor chopsticks, a rasta (red, yellow, and green) looking bracelet, a turtle, a Lao's outline of the country magnet and some awesome chocolates from Royce where my friend got from his layover in Tokyo.

Thank you guys you are so awesome to bless me these gifts (omiyage). God Bless!

Big Kahuna's Pizza Honolulu, Hawaii

I recently went to Big Kahuna for some ono pan pizza. They are known for their garlic balls, which is smothered in cheese and garlic. My sisters wanted the kalua pig sandwich which was smothered in Hawaiian BBQ sauce. Here are some pictures of the restaurant and the food we ate. Sorry I forgot to take pictures of the Kalua Pig sandwich...it was pretty huge!
Food is delicious and worth it! Kalua Pig sandwich was $8 (US), Garlic Balls $6 (US) and my 7" Spinach, Garlic, Tomato pizza was $7 (US).

Welcome home dinner...

so sorry I forgot about these pictures...

Before our friend's big wedding in August we had a dinner for our friends from the Pacific Northwest. It was a homecoming for one of our Portland friends so we had some of the foods that he loves. Here are the pictures...we had baked salmon topped with crab, mushrooms, etc. (no shellfish for me, unfortunately), pork adobo, pinakbet (vegetable dish), poke (raw fish with seaweed), etc. We had fun reminiscing and chatting too bad life couldn't be so carefree every day.

things happen for a reason...

Got a message that on this day, God wants me to know...
... that there are no accidents. What you think of as accidents are simply your conversations with God that you haven't yet been able to understand. But take heart, all happens in God's will and every conversation has deep meaning for you.

Lord, you just know what I needed to hear. Everything happens for a reason. I know that but some times I forget. Today many people ask me if my job is safe. Safe? Nothing in life in guarantee. The only guarantee I have in my life is God. Yes! God is constant in my life and no matter what I am going through I know He's there protecting me, carrying me and hugging me when I need it.

So as we all patiently wait to see if we still have jobs, if we endure pay cuts, or if we look forward to furloughs I can only pray. Pray for myself, my family, my friends and my company. I pray that God continues to touch your heart and give you the confidence that every thing will be alright. And it will all in His time not ours.

Okay I have to prepare my resume and fill out applications. Yes I am trusting in the Lord but I'm not going to be unprepared should I loose my job. Take care and God Bless! ~kamuela

Love is a special thing...

Got a message that on this day, God wants me to know...

... that you've been skipping out on God's most important gift to man - love. Love is the blood of the soul. God wants all beings to have healthy and strong... souls, so God created a simple law to nourish the soul: the more you give love, the more you receive love. Remember all the beings you love - people, animals - that you haven't thought of lately. Do not wait anymore, reconnect with them today and express your love.

thank you Lord! I so needed to hear this! Love is something that I experience from my family, friends and even animals. God is such a character...he always seems to show me what I need to know when I needed it. Now reconnecting with others that will be interesting...I've already reconnected with a lot in facebook. Such an wonderful social network but I don't like the games and the way hackers try to get into your system. Oh well, just be careful if you decided to join facebook and be selective on what you do.

Have a blessed week!

Facing Fears...

so true, so true, so true!!! I need to face my fears straight on and look at what God wants me to see! Thank you Jesus!

Got a message that on this day, God wants me to know...
... that what you are most afraid of is where your greatest rewards are. If all you had to do was wish for something and you would have it, life would be pretty boring, wouldn't it? God placed barriers between us and what we want, so we can enjoy interesting and satisfying lives. God hid our biggest rewards behind the highest barriers - our deepest fears. God wants us to face our fears, and hold ground in their presence, and let them go, and that's how we get out biggest rewards. What are you most afraid of? Say it, just start by saying it.

Relaxation...

I have to admit that the beach is my solitude. But in the Pacific Northwest the wilderness is heaven on earth. The beach is my other heaven on earth. I can't get enough of the waves crashing on the ocean.

But the wilderness is something it's unbelievable. The smell of fresh pine and oak is truly amazing. I love when the sun glistens through the branches. And if it rained while I was there it would have been an added bonus. Rain makes the wilderness aroma explode to a magnitude that you just have to experience one day in your life.

Here's some pictures of my heaven on earth. Plus an added feature...koi from this awesome water feature that I got to see every day! Thank you Lord for even allowing me to experience these awesome wonders. You created it! Just like you created me. I'm so blessed!

Tacoma's Museum of Glass

My friends took me to Tacoma's Museum of Glass. Talk about UNREAL!!! The glass pieces were all unique basically you can't duplicate any piece because of all the elements used from chemicals to the intense heat. The fire needs to be 1000 -1500 degrees Fahrenheit. The featured exhibitor was a Native American from Alaska, Preston Singletary.

I love Indian artifacts and this was a blessing to see his work. Enjoy the pictures!

Redondo Beach Des Moines, Washington

We drove by Redondo Beach after my visit to UW. It was low tide that day and lots of fishermen were casting their polls. A beautiful day! Love this view. I really do miss the sight of evergreen and the Puget Sound. BTW, Salty's, one of my favorite restaurants is located at this beach. They are one of the few places that prepared the best salmon I ever ate. To me Copper River salmon is the BEST! I have more pictures that I'll post later. Got to run! Have a fabulous day! ~Kamuela

Seattle, Washington

My last stop in the Pacific Northwest. After my stay in Portland I ventured up to Seattle. It was actually raining on that day and it was in the 60's. But the coolest thing about it is after I went to visit my uncle's grave site the rain stopped and the sun made it's appearance and didn't leave until the morning of my return back to the islands.

Took some awesome pictures of Seattle's skyline, University of Washington's Sports area, Sound Transit (Seattle's light rail) and more! Enjoy the pictures!

Confirmation! Confirmation! Confirmation!

Got a message that on this day, God wants me to know...

... that today is a big day for you. Yes, today. Keep your eyes open for a message. It might come in a shape of a bird flying overhead, or a graffiti on a wall, or a phrase said by a passerby, or... Whatever shape it has, this message has been trying to reach you for years, and today is finally the day. Keep your senses open.

Lord only in your time and in your way does anything happen. Even when things get so intense I just consider it PURE JOY to live my life. It's a joy to serve you! Now I need to focus on the next step you want me to take. No fear, no doubt, and no depression...I will get there all in your time! Thank you Jesus!

Rose Garden...

Aah! Can you smell the roses? A beautiful fragrant place. I was in awe the whole time. My friend probably thought I was nuts but I was having a great time!

Okay...I'll share with you my other stop in the Pacific Northwest-Seattle! I'll post when I can. Good night my blogger buddies!

Portland, Oregon

About two weeks ago I had the opportunity to journey to the Pacific Northwest. Yep! My home away from home. First stop was Portland, Oregon...I had a really bad flight over the ocean where 2/3 of the time we had intense turbulence partly due to the remnants of a tropical storm that was headed to Hawaii.
When I finally reached Portland it was HOT, literally, they were experiencing a heat wave but not intense as the couple of weeks earlier where the temps were around 110. Pictures of Portland's waterfront. It was a beautiful HOT day!

Confirmation!

Got a message that on this day, God wants me to know...
... that happiness has nothing to do with pleasure.

You feel pleasure when you want something and you get it. Or when you don't want something and you remove it. Pleasure is always relative. Happiness is absolute. Happiness is the understanding and acceptance of life as it is in this very moment as completely perfect, because every creation of God is perfect. The degree to which you do not accept life in all of the Divine forms is the degree to which you suffer.

Lord, you know me better than I know myself. Thank you for the message and I will continue to pray for the Happiness you so want for me. Happiness is what I will strive for.

Living my life totally focused on you Lord!
